Kate showed her ability to relate in a very down to earth manner, by donning a bobble hat and posting a selfie video to support UK Children’s Mental Health Week. She and William are involved in many mental health initiatives. Kate in her right has been the Royal Patron of the UK children's mental health charity Place2Be since 2013.

Place2Be has provided mental health services in schools for over 25 years through a variety of different mental health and counselling services to meet schools’ needs, including in-school support, expert training, and resources.

The aim of the charity is to assist children through mental health services both in and out of school, such that children can reach their full potential.

The theme of UK Children's Mental Health Week this year is 'Express Yourself'. The aim is to encourage children to express themselves in a variety of ways. Kate reiterated this theme in her video. The importance of children to think about expressing themselves and finding creative ways to share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings, be it through photography, art, through drama or music or poetry. Kate said it is finding those things that makes you feel good about yourself.

And whilst this is Children’s Mental Health week, Kate acknowledged the importance for parents and caregivers to look after their own emotional wellbeing. Kate said, there has never been a more important time to talk about parental wellbeing and mental health too as this is a hugely challenging time for us all. Kate urged, please look after yourself too.

Kate’s message and the medium by which she chose to release it, have been widely praised in the UK media and also by Kate's fans.
