Deirdre Kashdan is a Creative Practitioner,Tutor and Networker. Deirdre in her own words: "Art has the power to heal, reveal, connect and transform. It can help us make sense of our own experience, as well as that of others. It can throw a spotlight on social issues, helping to raise awareness. It can create a space for people to be heard and acknowledged. Adopting a multi disciplinary approach which includes Photography, Collage, Printmaking and Performance, I have undertaken numerous projects which place an emphasis upon dialogue, participation and collaboration. A life touched by suicide and severe mental illness, The Missing Project is my current and most important work to date. I spent 20 years in Primary Education as a Teacher and Headteacher, leaving the profession in 1996. I went on to study at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury, where I was awarded a BA Hons in Fine Art in 2002. I live and work in Deal, on the Kent Coast."62 episoder
