Apple stock is trading lower today amid concerns of an iPhone production shortfall due to the COVID-19 outbreak at Foxconn's factory in Zhengzhou, China. Many Apple stores are already grappling with iPhone Pro shortages of up to 35%-45% of typical inventory. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives estimates that the iPhone shortage could reduce sales by a rough 5% of units for the current quarter, and potentially up 10% depending on what happens in the short-term around that factory. Ives added that many Apple (AAPL) stores have seen "major" iPhone 14 Pro shortages by as much as 40% compared to typical inventory levels and delivery dates have been pushed into early January in some cases. Bloomberg reported Monday that a source familiar with operations at the Foxconn facility estimated a production shortfall of 6 million iPhone 14 Pros this year, primarily due to the tumult.
