Anti-COVID lockdown protests are taking place in various cities throughout China. A deluge of pornographic spam on Twitter is making it difficult for users to search for information on the protests. The spam tweets appear to be coming from bot accounts and have increased in number over the last three days. It is believed that the Chinese government is behind the spamming in an attempt to censor information about the protests. Prominent journalists and observers are calling on Twitter to take action to stop the spam.
