Remember that God’s nature is to love and show mercy to His enemies. That doesn’t mean that He devalues justice, but wherever there is a bit of repentance, His nature is to forgive and to be patient, even when people continue to get it wrong. That was true for the Ninevites, that was true for us, and that remains true for those who offend and threaten us.
