This is episode is a special one. I know, I know, I say that a lot but hear me out. This one holds a special place in my heart because this was the first episode we recorded where we didn't know the guest and they didn't really know us. This could have gone off the rails. What if we didn't get along? What if the tone is off. Would this be a cold sterile interview of softball lobbed questions? "Oh you have a record out... oh a tour wow...".
Nope.
Brendan Kelly, who really needs no introduction to the punk world, is as generous, thoughtful and curious on this Episode as he is on his own Podcast, They Come To America and his outstanding catalog of music.
This was a joy to record and it posed a unique challenge. What to cut?
Pat and I have made a conscious choice to hold back material each episode so that we have some good stuff for our upcoming Patreon.
This one felt different. We had some big conversations. Cutting a part of this one didn't feel right, particularly due to the fact that so much of what we talked about (aside from the most amazing Crash story we've had so far) was about doing what you feel to be right consequences be damned. So screw it. This is a much larger chunk of our conversation together. AMAZING Stories here. I'm beyond excited to share this with everyone. No previews this time. Just get surprised.
One last thing, as I write this on a plane from Phoenix AZ to Denver. Thank you all. Pat and I love doing this and the feedback and responses have been amazing. Thanks to Brendan for making what is in my mind an ideal episode.
