The King was just and clement; the revolutionaries criminal and murderous. The government of Louis XVI was mild; the government of the Revolution extreme to the point of toxicity. From the throne came religious tolerance and mercy; from the mob an attempted genocide against the Church. At this moment visible on television and the internet revolutionaries are destroying the past day in and out and always in the open.
