In this brief update, I share important context and corrections regarding the episode recorded with Taylor Chambers.

After receiving feedback from insightful listeners, I realized that the conversation on boundaries lacked critical distinctions about different stages of recovery from betrayal trauma.

This addendum addresses:

  1. The essential differences between early-stage recovery (focused on safety and stabilization) and later-stage recovery (focused on mutual connection).
  2. Why context matters deeply when discussing boundaries, especially for relationships with histories of abuse, coercion, or power imbalances.
  3. Acknowledgment of the harm that could arise from missing these nuances and my commitment to greater clarity in the future.

If you’ve already listened to the original episode, I encourage you to check out this update to ensure the information resonates with your unique recovery journey. As always, take what works for you and leave the rest.

Thank you to the thoughtful listeners who helped me make this correction. Your feedback is invaluable in creating safe, supportive resources for all.
