We’re at a strange point in cultural resource management (CRM) where there’s simultaneously tons of companies hiring archaeologists, and very few qualified people to fill those jobs. Today we’re gonna talk about how we got here, and what the path ahead looks like. Jeff Atschul and Terry Klein published an article in the most recent Advances in Archaeological Practice called, “Forecast for the US CRM Industry and Job Market, 2022-2031” that outlines the factors shaping the next 10 years of factors that will shape careers in CRM archaeology.
