In The Doll World doll podcast is joined by award winning doll artist Cecelia Arrington. We are so excited to have Ceceila join us to talk about her journey to creating award winning dolls. www.inthedollworld.com/creators
She is also a member of the Professional Doll Makers Guild and volunteer for their upcoming 2nd Annual PDMAG Online Convention, October 15th-24th, which we are also a sponsor for.
In part of her doll journey, Cecelia shares with us among many other things, a wonderful story of how as a little girl she loved dolls and at 12, she made her first doll. It was a life-size doll and made from her mother's curtains and sheets! Though Cecilia's mother wasn't happy about Cecilia's chosen materials, Cecilia was ecstatic!
As she got older, Cecilia experimented with a variety of methods and materials. She made crochet, wire, polymer clay, and finally paperclay dolls. She found paperclay to be her favorite of the materials.
Her passion truly lies in creating unconventional dolls, ones that would certainly strike up many conversations. She is also very much interested in adding more diversity to fantasy and whimsical dolls, which she is very excited about creating.
She also shares with us also how important it was to her growth in having mentors, which has allowed her talent to blossom and has helped her to create beautiful award winning dolls.
