We discuss the history of the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) and Highlights for the SIO 2019 Conference in New York with Dr. Jun Mao, who is the Chief of the Integrative Medicine Service at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and a former President of SIO. The conference is hosted by MSKCC, one of the leading cancer centers in the world, where the Integrative Medicine Service, the first of its kind in an US academic cancer center, is celebrating its 20th year since inception. We get a fascinating look at the services offered and how they are influencing integrative cancer care through education, clinical practices, and research. The conversation later focuses on research in acupuncture for symptom management in cancer patients, including neuropathy and pain.
