Two trains, one fast and hot, the other slow and cold. Our mechanical versions of “The Tortoise and the Hare” pick up six months after the events of season2’s finale with different missions. With an eye toward the future, Layton and his pirate train aboard Snowpiercer’s engine endeavour to carry on Melanie’s work by collecting important climate-related data. Wilford, managing Big Sally and the other thousand cars, works instead to maintain a subservient status quo for a single working class under his thumb.
