Rob Lawless on Experiencing Human Connection by Meeting 10,000 Strangers
Manage episode 294617711 series 2937817
In this episode, we interviewed creator of Robs10kFriends, Rob Lawless. The goal of Rob’s project is to meet 10,000 people for an hour each, in order to experience genuine human connection and encourage others to also take initiative to meet someone new. Rob gives us some tips to help others connect, the main ones being to set a goal for connection and to use the FORD method: family, occupation, recreation, and dreams. He is confident that this will make you a great conversationalist. Later on in our interview, Rob shares some of the most memorable conversations that he’s had thus far, being almost halfway to his 10k goal, and the amount of gratitude they’ve given him. We end the conversation explaining the difference between treating human connection as an experience rather than a transaction.
Enjoy!
