John Allen Chau was, by all accounts, a wonderful, fun-loving, 26-year-old American missionary. Through his church, John trained in a religious boot camp of sorts to infiltrate North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean, in hopes to convert the native population to Christianity.
This is an island that is home to one of the few "uncontacted tribes" left on the planet.
John's journey to the island would be short-lived and the ramifications would be disastrous for everyone involved.
