Take a deep dive into United Hatzalah's founding and how the organization completely reshaped the field of emergency medicine by revolutionizing the speed and tools used to respond to emergencies.
Co-hosts Dovie Maisel (in his new role as CEO of United Hatzalah Innovation, a subsidiary of the organization) and Elad Bachar discussed the early days of responding to emergencies on ambulances as members of Israel's national ambulance service, how founder Eli Beer realized that there was a better way to respond to emergencies leveraging the power of community, and how United Hatzalah was formed and grown into the largest volunteer EMS organization in Israel with over 7,000 volunteer EMTs, paramedics, and physicians who respond to 2,000 calls per day, reaching 750,000 emergencies in 2024, and treating over 7 million patients since its inception.
