Despite major behind-the-scenes drama with the first two films Superman III was full steam ahead. In fact, it was greenlit before the second film even came out, and audiences had to wait less than two years to see the Man of Steel again. This time, infusing prominent comedian Richard Pryor, the producers hoped to draw a wider crowd. Unfortunately, their plan failed.
