Why is the 2008 market crash called a bubble bursting crash? What is the history of the word "bubble" being associated with the stock market?
If you haven't read about this already, you are going to be really surprised by the fact that 2008 was not the first stock market bubble in the world. In fact, the history of the Stock market bubble goes back to 17th century Europe. How so? Well, it had something to do with tulip flowers.
Stock Market bubbles are often driven by speculators, but how can bubble crashing have a history when it's a well-known fact that stock markets were not there in the 17th-century tulip market. The speculative market behaviour of tulips among the dutch merchant class was referred to as "tulipmania".
In this Stock market history lesson, we are going to discuss the relationship between the 2008 market bubble and the Tulipmania.
