In this episode, we dive into the remarkable journey of Guy Spier, the Zurich-based value investor behind the Aquamarine Fund. From winning a $650,100 lunch with Warren Buffett to authoring the acclaimed Education of a Value Investor, Spier’s story blends financial savvy with personal transformation. Through his never-ending thirst for knowledge, inspiring work on the VALUEx conference and investment community efforts, he has become a guiding light for value investors worldwide.

During our talk, we explored some of the more complex and interesting concepts in investing; how to identify great cultures, the power of luxury brands and how to mentally deal with losses and mistakes in investing. Negative stuff happens in life, it is how you deal with the setbacks that builds your character - Guy shared personal experiences and techniques for overcoming difficult periods. Several companies came up during the discussions, i.e. Costco, IKEA, Ferrari and - of course - Berkshire Hathaway.

We throughly enjoyed our talk with Guy. An inspiring person and investor. The listener will not only get valuable investment insights, but also interesting reflections on life and time.
