Segment 1
Sam starts with a quote from the universe about our perception of the world being shaped by habit. Sam has observed that overtime people don’t think about their place in the world through an expansive stance, instead we begin to retract. He recommends that you read “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J Schwartz if you believe that thinking bigger may help you be true to yourself. Sam reads another quote from the universe about being solution oriented. Within the years that Sam has been doing his show, all of his guests agree that the more you lean into the vision you have of something greater, the more likely you will succeed.
Segment 2
Sam talks about our food shopping habits. How often do you buy groceries? How often do you order delivery? Some people shop more since we are home and cooking more often? Others are ordering more delivery from restaurants. In the past, Sam and his wife would invest in community agriculture. They’d buy a share of a farmer’s crop and the food would be brought to a local venue like a church. It’s also good to be conscious about the energy you consume and the clothes you buy. Sam encourages you to share resources with others and minimize waste.
Segment 3
We don’t often think about health and self care. Investing in your health does not mean you have to be fanatical, small changes can be significant. One of the changes that Sam made is adding walking to his routine. Self care for your mental health and spiritual health is essential. When you put others ahead of yourself, you are not in a good state and can’t show up for other people. Sam begins talking about retirement and how it does not have to mean one thing. It can be taking a break in the middle of your life, and you can do it multiple times. There is nothing wrong with retiring at 65, but it is important that it is your conscious choice.
