Sexy Messy: A practice for freedom, rapture and bliss
What would your life be like if even during times of stress and uncertainty, you could experience a sense of meaning, freedom and presence?
Although in the end it can be beautiful, transformation is messy. Yet, when you decide that transformation is not an option, but a devotion, even in moments of chaos it can be freeing, even rapturous. Presence makes the messy sexy, rather than daunting.
In early 2001 I met our guest at a conference in NYC. I was a director at the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She was an executive at Town Sports International, one of the largest health club chains in the United States. That chance meeting was the start of a relationship between our companies, and a personal friendship that has lasted over two decades.
We both shared a passion for health and fitness. Additionally, we didn’t view fitness merely as a focus on the human body, but a means of transformation for the human being residing within it. Over the years her journey has led her to view wellbeing as an integrated practice of mind, body and spirit.
In this episode we discuss the evolution of the fitness industry, as well as our own ideology around transformative practice.
Alexandra Joy Smith is a Speaker, Celebrated Author, and Sacred Feminine Intuitive Soul Guide. Join us as we discuss how fitness, breath and life can be an integrated practice for a higher state of consciousness, creating both transformation and transcendence.
