Last night, Dick and I watched the docuseries House of Hammer on Discovery +. The series’ promotions promise to to reveal the “dark, twisted secrets of the Hammer family,” with the help of Armie’s aunt, Casey Hammer. The first of three episodes is “Love Bomb” where we hear the first-hand accounts of alleged victims Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison . Then we hear from Casey about the Hammer family’s history of violence.

Casey wrote a memoir in 2015, Surviving My Birthright, which details her experience as a victim and a witness. In the series’ trailer, she says this about her family:

“Every generation in my family has been involved in dark misdeeds, and it just gets worse and worse. I know my grandfather had a dark side, but I saw my father’s dark side first hand, and I saw my brother’s dark side, and it was like a monster was unleashed. Now it is Armie Hammer.”

Messages Armie Hammer sent to women include “I have a fantasy about having someone prove their love and devotion and tying them up in a public place at night and making their body free use,” “I am going to bite the fuck out of you,” and “I am 100% a cannibal.” He has denied the allegations against him since they were made public in January 2021. But his career as an actor has been cancelled. This July, Variety reported that he was broke and living in the Cayman Islands with his ex-wife and their children, working as a manager of an apartment complex and selling timeshares. So, was his fall from grace earned or was he kinky, entitled, or just misunderstood?
