Good morning, Austin! This is your weather update for Sunday, January 19th, coming to you with some chilly news that'll make you want to grab that extra layer.
We've got a Cold Weather Advisory and a Winter Storm Watch in effect, so listen up! Overnight, we're looking at clear skies but temperatures dropping to a frosty 29 degrees. Expect those north winds howling at around 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 30 miles per hour - definitely coat and gloves weather!
Sunday's going to be sunny but crisp, with temperatures barely making it to 44 degrees. Those north winds will continue to keep things cool, blowing at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Things get interesting on Monday. Martin Luther King Day will start with increasing clouds and a high near 40 degrees. But Monday night? That's when things get spicy - we're talking snow showers and sleet likely, with temperatures dropping to around 27 degrees.
Tuesday brings a slight chance of snow and sleet before noon, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 35 degrees. By Wednesday, we'll see a bit of a warmup with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing to 42 degrees.
As we roll into Thursday and Friday, we'll see temperatures gradually climbing - Thursday hitting 54 degrees and Friday warming up to 58 degrees. By Saturday, we might even see temperatures reach a pleasant 66 degrees.
