Meet Jo Rust, Johannesburg-born Jo Rust is one of the world’s most prominent women in adventure travel. Jo is no stranger when it comes to traveling roads less traveled. She holds many records, including the fastest female cyclist to ride from Johannesburg to Cape Town—solo. Jo was the first person to cycle around South Africa—solo. And she was the first woman in history to travel throughout Africa by motorcycle—alone. That journey lasted longer than a year and had Jo logging more than 45,000 kilometers through 28 countries, including some of the toughest on the African continent. Jo has a passion for adventure, exploration, exercising power over the mind, and often going where others dare not. Jo continually pushes the envelope to overcome the impossible.
