Exile

When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Learn more at www.lbi.org/kollisch . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute , New York | Berlin and Antica Productions . It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. Executive Producers include Katrina Onstad, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Senior Producer is Debbie Pacheco. Associate Producers are Hailey Choi and Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Sound design and audio mix by Philip Wilson, with help from Cameron McIver. Theme music by Oliver Wickham. Voice acting by Natalia Bushnik. Special thanks to the Kollisch family for the use of Eva’s two memoirs, “Girl in Movement” and “The Ground Under My Feet”, the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College and their “Voices of Feminism Oral History Project”, and Soundtrack New York.…

×BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX ON TUESDAYS -- Just in time for the S4 premiere, we're covering Greg & Larry. Aarthi and Carl talk about how the finale stacks up against the episode previous, its position as the ending to the arc, and just who IS Rosa Diaz anyway? There's segues about The Mindy Project, Central Intelligence (the Hart-Johnson comedy from summer 2016), and POPSTAR, and maybe some blather about What Is An Apatow Film Anyway? We speculate on how the Jake/Amy relationship will be handled (we recorded this before the 4x01 press release came out, so bear with us) and wonder if this could be how the show rolls Jason Mantzoukas in as a full-time cast member. Unfortunately, those developments and more are going to have to happen without us. With this, Episode 64, Back in the Field is packing up its mics. We've been so honored you gave us an hour of your time, now and then, for the last two years, and we hope you'll all continue to shout at us on Twitter, Tumblr, and wherever about how much you love this special little show. Thanks for listening, we'll see you around.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX ON TUESDAYS -- We are FINALLY back with our last catchup episode. We talk about Paranoia, Maximum Security, and Bureau. Carl and Aarthi discuss heistfulness, Jake and Amy's relationship progression (and a retread of an older conversation about Jim and Pam and Jake and Amy and Leslie and Ben) and how time and distance will/are going to impact it. We also talk about the excellence that is Jason Mantzoukas, the OINTB-ness of it all, Melissa's real and Amy's fake pregnancy, and most importantly, continue to lament the tanking of Gina/Boyle as a viable ship. Also, Aarthi talks about her then-single, now twice appearance on @HDTGM and Carl offers for listeners to "fight me" as he usually does.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS TUESDAYS ON FOX -- Your favorite hosts decide that a better way to talk about this string of episodes is to basically focus entirely on Adrian Pimento. Aarthi may or may not objectify Jason Mantzoukas along with Jake, Carl and Aarthi talk about Pimento being the Darkest Timeline version of Jake, and pretty much every other plotline and character is ignore. Just kidding, we talk about how Pimento interacts with just about every character during his arc, and how his addition to the team would be terribly welcome. Plus, Aarthi brags about kind-of-sort-of meeting JMantz a time or two.…
It's a long, rambly episode where your two favorite hosts talk about Karen Peralta, The 9-8, and House Mouses. We keep getting lost in rabbit trails, but we manage to pull it together at the end. Drop us an ask at http://back-in-the-field.tumblr.com/ask
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS TUESDAYS ON FOX -- In our second catching up episode, Carl and Aarthi discuss Hostage Situation, Nine Days, and The Cruise in quick succession. Neither of your hosts pretend to like anything about Hostage Situation, and Nine Days was largely glossed over in our efforts to get to The Cruise, which we really enjoyed. Technical difficulties made this episode shorter than we wanted it to be, but we talk about the good stuff. As always, please reblog, tweet, and share BITF if you enjoy it. And please, leave a review on iTunes :)…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX ON SUNDAYS AT 8:30PM ET/PT -- We took a long hiatus that ended up getting extended for a host of reasons, but the short version is: WE ARE BACK, baby! Carl and Aarthi catch up on various real life occurrences, then get down and dirty with Ava, The Swedes, and Yippee Kayak. The usual banter, back-and-forth, and regular charm is on full display as your favorite cohosts puzzle out their feelings about the new Jeffords child, the introduction of weirdly racist-against-Danes Swedish detectives (who are definitely banging), and the true perfection of Yippee Kayak. And, as always, there's wrestling, books, and internet culture jokes. It's a wild ride, overlong, and overdue.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX ON SUNDAYS AT 8:30PM ET/PT -- This week, we open with a ten-minute discussion of what the future of BITF looks like given our recent run of delayed or skipped episodes, various other troubles, and personal changes in our lives. After that (and our jazzy intro) we get into the episode, talking briefly about the B and C plots (and mourning the sinking of Gina/Boyle) while appreciating a lot of things about this episode's structure. Around 34:15 we switch to the A-plot and our feelings about it. Aarthi starts out rather negative, but Carl presents a reasoned, alternate viewpoint that seems to better fit the narrative arc the show is going for. We're curious what our listeners think, both about our decisions regarding BITF's future as well as about our speculation about the latter half of the season. Plus: we reference the Godfather once or twice, so you know it's a great podcast.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX ON SUNDAYS AT 8:30PM ET -- A short ep which is grossly late, where your hosts mostly chat about Rosa, since the A and C plots didn't really hold our interest. Plus, some brief chatter about B99 moving to Tuesday nights again. An easy, breezy, beautiful(ly edited) episode, and it even has a cover! (Nailed it.)…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS SUNDAYS NIGHTS ON FOX AT 8:30PM ET/7:30PM CT. -- All hail Queen Amy, Amazing Detective-Slash-Genius. Amy gets her rightful role in the Nine-Nine at last, while Gina and Boyle continue to dance around them being each others' endgame. Also, Rosa was cool. Your hosts dig into Boyle's messed-up relationship dynamics, taste in men (spoiler alert: it's Jake), and the forthcoming inevitable end of his relationship with Genevieve. We also talk about Tumblr drama surrounding a scene this episode, Amy's excellence, hopes for the future of the show, and all our pending asks. It's a long ep, so strap in. For a full set of show notes, please check out http://back-in-the-field.tumblr.com/…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- This week, your favorite sitcom podcasters cover fat-shaming and its place both within the show as well as the creative family, badass boss ladies bedeviling bird-monikered boys, and possibly the strongest A-plot we've seen in a year. Black male physicality, femslash undertones, and found family feelings are all over this podcast. Plus: Aarthi forgets about not only a fight between her OTP but also their new ship name ("Portners") while Carl insists we take a YouTube break at the end of the episode. Don't worry: they come back.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- We're talking about Boyle's latest doomed relationship and the viability of Boyle's romantic paradigms (spoiler alert: outlook's not good) all while Jake keeps yes-anding him, which makes Aarthi wonder if the Actual Ship of the show is Boyle and Jake, and their FRIENDship. Meanwhile, the C plot is roundly panned as being weaksauce and meaningless in the face of a potentially-heavy B-plot about the NYPD responding to last year's (and, frankly, ongoing) conversations around police brutality and abuse of power. We then spend literally the last ten minutes talking about Jake as an Artist, hipster gear and all. It's a wild ride, and we're glad you're here for it!…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- Late to the party but still pretty, Carl and Aarthi talk about parallels between this episode and The Boyle-Linetti Wedding, from S2. Your hosts seem undecided about the episode overall, but a strong B and C plot keeps the episode going even when there are missteps along the way. In a rare example, Carl and Aarthi fundamentally disagree on a discussion point, and we catch ourselves armchair story-editing along the way. In off-topic addendums, we talk a bit about the still-missing podcast episodes, New York Comic Con, and the LA heat. All this and more, now that BITF is back....in the field. (Nailed it.)…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET ON SUNDAYS -- It's the first episode of the season, the first time we have a "previously on," and the first time BITF is bi-coastal! Lotta firsts tonight, and two "missing" episodes of the podcast notwithstanding, we're excited to talk romance, pigeon pants, and Dozerpads. Our segues remain terrible, our rhymes a little lacking, but our hearts continue to be in the right place. Hiatus over; Back in the Field is back in the field, y'all!…

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET ON SUNDAYS -- We're talking about the Season Two finale, with our special guest Marisa Roffman, from GiveMeMyRemote.com! It's an extra-long episode and we go deep into the episode, starting with Boyle and Rosa and their beautiful, precious friendship dynamic that we've missed. We take a long segue into the weirdness of Holt and Wuntch, and how inappropriate their encounters are. We discuss the death (or currently-dying state) of audience patience with a will-they-won't-they storyline, which takes us into a long section about Jake and Amy and their plotline and the kissing. We finish out by talking about Andre Braugher's excellent speech (choice quote: "Meep, morp, zeep, SOBBING.") The podcast closes out with us talking about what the new captain could be like, and speculation on who it could be. It's a really good episode, and we're excited for you to hear it! PS: There was a software error during the mixing, so if you notice there were problems with the audio, please leave us a message (with timestamps) in our askbox on Tumblr. Thanks!…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- It's a shortie! We're zooming through the B-plot to focus on the A-plot and its excellent dynamics. And then we just devolve into chat and speculation about the spoilers. Note that this was recorded on 12 May, meaning any spoilers that came out after that are not accounted for! Aarthi's avoiding spoilers, Carl's making jokes, and the stuff that got cut was longer than the stuff that made it in. Just call us....THE CHOPPER.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- Jake goes, once more, into the breach. Aarthi and Carl tackle the B-plot mostly half-heartedly in an effort to do the hard work before getting to the good stuff. We talk shipping, Amy's assertiveness arc, Jake's tells, what we'd like to see from Amy in the run-up to the finale, some shoutouts to the writers of the episode, some questions about who the REAL love of Jake's life is (it's definitely Boyle), and even a little spec on some finale spoilers. It's gonna be a sweet 50 minutes, y'all.…

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- Jake gets injured, Gina is nice to Amy, and Boyle loves Atlantic City. It's extra fun this week because we have a guest: comedian Katey Healy-Wurzburg and friend of the show. The conversations wanders a bit (we take some tangents to talk about The Rock, pro wrestling, the Fast and Furious franchise, there's an aside or two about Psych, and we talk about Baltimore as well) but it comes circling back at the end as we ask the important questions, riff on humorous topics, and bring a great conversation to your earbuds. Hope y'all enjoy it!…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- No new episode of b99 happened the week this aired, but Aarthi and Carl are back with a podcast dedicated to all the fun things you missed while on hiatus. Mostly, Aarthi talks about some adventures she had: she got to ask Chelsea Peretti a question on a live video stream, and then she got to meet a Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer in person. This episode is definitely an Aarthi-heavy one, but there's a ton of great info about the writing process for the show based on a talk she attended. All this and a Keith Haring sweater on this week's BITF!…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- We can't stand it, we know TPTB planned it, we're gonna set it straight, this watergate...and also this copyright infringement. Carl and Aarthi talk about Jake's insistence that, "Oh my gah, it's a mirage," and he's tellin' y'all it's sabotaaaaaage. Okay, okay, jokes (and ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY song parodies) aside, Carl and Aarthi spend a big chunk of this episode dissecting the A-plot. Neither Aarthi nor Carl loved this episode, and their dissatisfaction and disenchantment shows. However, possibly *because* they're so down on the primary plotline, the B and C plots get not only less discussion time but also less negativity. They end with a little speculation on the future, with minimal spoilers because there simply AREN'T any to go around, and announce a hiatus until Easter. So listen up, 'cause you can't say nothin'.... It's SABOTAAAAAAGE.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- In what can only be described as "a strange turn," this week's podcast is probably secretly about food? Aarthi and Carl chat about the riddle and its solution for a while, with healthy detours into conversation about 30 Rock, Friends, Iron Man, The Hobbit, and our usual requisite Jupiter Ascending shoutout. This episode was recorded and edited while sleep-deprived, so bear with us as we get weird.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- This week, Aarthi sounds terribad and talks more than usual. Weddings are discussed, as is Marcus's bowl of oatmeal nature. Jake and Amy are partnered, and Aarthi has to live with getting everyting she's been demanding of the show since December. Gina slays this episode, and Chelsea Peretti's Emmy viability is considered. Last but not least, Brad Whitford couldn't get with Emma Thompson -- this makes sense in context, probably, we swear. All this and more on your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast!…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- This week, Aarthi sits down with a fellow B99 megafan while Carl taps out of podcast stuff in lieu of Real Life stuff. Sadie Doyle is better known as myparade or skyeborn on Tumblr, and has a long history in fandom. It's a fun, meandering conversation that we present to you entirely unedited. It's actually pretty rad!…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30ET -- This week, Carl and Aarthi talk about, well, how much they liked this episode. Which is probably why it runs short. Boyle gets a win, Gina is better at relationships, Amy shuts down a bad "Title of Your Sextape" joke, and Terry is mentioned just once in the 'cast, oops.…
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE AIRS ON FOX AT 8:30PM ET -- In today's podcast, we talk about Amy's sheer magnificence. And Jupiter Ascending. And the Rosa-Amy dynamic. And Holt Gina-ing Gina. And Boyle being stuck in a bit of a rut. And Jake's possible future career opportunities being tanked. And actiony sequences. And how S2 measures up against S1. And cops in media. And future spec! It's a pretty full episode, so it runs a bit longer than usual. Enjoy!…
Your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast is taking the week off and chatting some more with LaToya Ferguson, from The AV Club. On your fave Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast today, we have a special guest: LaToya Ferguson, of The AV Club! We start out talking about Brooklyn Nine-Nine but then things get a little zany -- so we cut the conversation into two parts! Hold on to your headphones, this one's a gem. Back in the Field releases on Fridays at 8:30AM Eastern Time. (Usually.)…
Today on your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast: Jake has to provide payback (along with a number of wasted movie-quality lines) to his comrades. Meanwhile, Amy shows some serious maturity and growth by no Amying up her partnering with Holt -- and, weirdly, seems to channel Jake while doing so. Meanwhile, Aarthi is dogsitting, Carl is annoyed by the normalization of peak physical conditioning, and both of us feel a bit let down. Plus: some spoilery speculation, fawning over a puppy, and complaining (and objectifying) of the male castmembers. And who says chivalry is dead?…
Your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast is back from hiatus. We're on the freeform jazz format again, and we talk through highlights of this episode. Aarthi tells a (probably) inappropriate story about drinking. Carl and Aarthi talk through some beautiful cinematography in this episode. Carl is captaining a new ship, and the return of mature!Jake is much celebrated.…
In today's release of your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast, we're going off-book -- it's free-form jazz up in the podcast! Carl and Aarthi chat about the season's arc, Jake and Charles's no-nos for each other, Rosa and Holt's perfect accord, and speculate on what the future (i.e. 2015) will bring in terms of B99 goodness. There's a lot of spoilers for future press releases and we welcome all our (hopefully) new listeners from The A.V. Club. Check out the article here: http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/brooklyn-nine-nine-stakeout-212994 Last, we'll be on hiatus until January 8th -- check us out when we get back. In this week's episode of your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast, Aarthi and Carl break down why Doug Judy is the worst, speculate on the ramifications of the Giggle Pig arc concluding, do a bunch of semi-spoilery speculation, and bring you some feel-good jamz. (Okay, maybe not so much that last one.)…
In today's episode of your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast, Carl and Aarthi talk about Beyonce, Olympic sports, bottle episodes, Leverage, and alternate versions of this episode, both real and imagined. Note: Aarthi mis-identifies Luke del Tredici, who wrote this episode, as the writer of Unsolveable. What she really means is Undercover. Note II: This episode suffered a number of technical difficulties, hence its lateness to the party.…
This week on your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast: Amy. Jake. Dayquil. Longshoremen. COWS. And thumbs. We can't forget the thumbs.
This week on your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast: We touch on LOCKDOWN and USPIS in this episode, but then take the opportunity to discuss some relevant current events. Unfortunately, Ep 29 of BITF has been delayed! In the meantime, check out our guest stint on @TheTelevoid instead -- we got to talk about a show that's NOT Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and we had some laughs. It was a good time! But -- we'll do our best to get the next episode of BITF out as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience! The Televoid: https://soundcloud.com/thetelevoid…
In today's episode we watchalong with Jake and Sophia, discuss namesakes, bemoan the unending onslaught of comedy Carls, and debate the adoption of a new tagline. Will Carl back Aarthi up? Tune in to the latest episode of the definitive Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast.
In today's episode, we discuss Gina/Boyle, the US Midterm Elections, silent discos, our Halloween costumes, Andre Braugher's prospective comedy Emmy, Amy's new car (and the product placement), and Aarthi's loud laugh. It's a full episode of your favorite Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast!
In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi host a Q&A session. We talk about shipping, spoilers, the Nine-Nine as parents, Parks and Recreation, and suddenly realize all our headcanons are Jossed. It's a full podcast for sure!
HALLOWEEN! This week we talk about Gina's potential malfeasance, ships, but not the ones you expect us to talk about, Great Cthulhu, and drones. Remember to send us asks for our special Q&A episode next week! Shout-outs to Prentice Penny, and to all the crew who made the set look extra great.
In this episode, Aarthi and Carl watchalong "The Jimmy Jab Games," which is an act of almost pure pleasure. Aarthi loses her cool over continuity and Carl loses his mind in a Kanye moment, but they both agree that bikes are the worst. Shout outs: 40millionyears brooklyn99gifs Lakshmi Sundaram Rick Page and the rest of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine Crew…
In this episode, Carl and Aarthi discuss racially-charged problematicals, Derek Jeter, TV shows that Aarthi thinks are good and Carl knows nothing about, and The 'Bu. Did you know Aarthi hasn't seen The 'Bu? You will soon. Shout outs: Marshall Boone, Assistant Producer and Twitter Friend of the Show All the rest of the crew that apparently likes us okay! Falulatonks Daily99…
it's season finale time! We change up the format a little bit, squee over shipping, fawn over friendships, and then ruminate on rumors about Season Two. This episode was recorded in advance, so more recent previews and stuff are not included. Both Carl and Aarthi love this episode, and we're both super excited for S2!…
We are talking UNSOLVEABLE. Carl has the terrific insight that the title doesn't refer to Case 52ABX-32QJ at all, and Aarthi is a little too into Babylon and all its potential for shipping. We talk at length about Amy and Teddy's relationship and how it impacts Jake both directly and indirectly, and in doing so kind of end up making ourselves a bit sad. But it's okay, because Holt's hoola-hooping injury makes up for it with its sheer lolarity.…
It's the episode that keeps being misspelled by offical sources: Fancy Brudgom! Jake is a terrific friend in this episode, and we give him the credit he is due. Meanwhile, There are inexplicable diets happening (and crazy-amazing food choices by Gina) in the break room. Finally, Holt and Rosa get paired up for the first time and it turns out it's awesome. However, before we begin, we take a moment to discuss some serious stuff that's been happening in Real Life that intersects with the show. This episode run a bit short for a lot of reasons, but it's because we liked what happens so much.…
Tactical Village! A wild Teddy appears! Jake uses, "Vic Kovac," but it doesn't have much effect. Pokemon jokes aside, This episode is filled with relationship drama. Rosa doesn't know how to handle Charles not inviting her to his wedding, Charles has trouble being honest with any of the women in his life (which only Gina is wired to thrive on), and Jake has an important epiphany a little too late. Terry deserves a medal for herding cats half as well as he does, and maybe Andre Braugher deserved the Emmy for saying Kwazy Kupcakes in an angry voice without losing his cool. All this and more in this week's episode!…
We're talking about The Apartment. Carl and Aarthi share some apartment hunting in New York stories and some performance evaluation horror stories (spoiler alert: it's mostly Aarthi telling these stories). We also talk at length about how great Jake and Amy's friendship/partnership is, and how much we like seeing Boyle and Rosa be friends without any real romantic subtext. This one is probably our funniest episode yet -- we crack a lot of jokes and it's just generally a good time.…
We're Full Boyle -- but not for Boyle. It's a shorter episode, so we're releasing two this week! Carl and Aarthi talk about Jake being a good friend, Boyle's focus changing and how that's amazing, and how the Jake/Amy scenes while welcome are wholly gratuitous.
It's an all-shipping episode! Carl and Aarthi quickly cover what they enjoyed in the B-plot to, instead, focus on Jake and Amy's shipping arc in the latter half of the season. Aarthi posits that Amy spends this episode pushing Jake to give her an answer and/or take action. Meanwhile, Jake's shortsightedness causes him to inadvertently close a window he didn't even know was open. All this and more in this week's meta-tastic episode of BITF.…
It's the episode that *should* have happened after The Ebony Falcon -- Carl and Aarthi start talking about bougie topics, such as what one brings to a fancy party, tenure, and The New Yorker. Carl appreciates Rosa's everything, and Aarthi is perhaps too sympathetic to Amy's overall plight. We also discuss winners and losers for the night. (Hint: Jake's not winning.) Pinkies up, 'cause we're getting classy!…
After many coughing-related trials and tribulations, we bring you "The Ebony Falcon." Within this episode you will find surprising wisdom and knowledge about the noble art of ballet, mild discussion of gyms, and a spurious Adventure Time crossover AU. Terry is back in the field (why yes that is the title of our podcast WHY DO YOU ASK), Gina's apartment has been burgled, and one-liners abound. Aarthi also squeals at length about adorable chubby cheeks.…
It's the episode you've all been waiting for: The Bet! Carl and Aarthi talk at length about this episode, hence it's extra long. There's not one but TWO audience participation points -- including a straw poll of our listeners! -- and multiple shoutouts to fandom folk. Included in the conversation: the possibility of drunk!Holt, Terry making a bad situation worse, Jake's date is all about him, Amy is a huge dork, Charles is mega creepy at the end, Gina doesn't know what a payphone is, this episode could have been a series finale, and plenty of crazed ramblings. All this and more!…
In today's episode, Aarthi tells a quick story about meeting an SNL castmember, Carl elaborates on why Doug Judy might be the most formidable actually-a-criminal villain Jake has ever faced, Aarthi talks about how to fanwank Jake and Rosa's personal history together, and we bring you our first official segment on the Boyle/Gina shipwatch. Plus, we pose to you, the audience, a most important question: what is the other half of the puppies' mix? All this and more in Episode 11 of Back in the Field!…
It's a double episode of holiday goodness! We discuss overarching plot threads, the meaning of family (fambly) and Aarthi rants about SantaCon at length. Plus, there's some cooing over Amy and analysis of just why rats in the ceiling are hilarious.
In today's episode, we talk about how a weak crime undermines what is otherwise an episode where we get lots of great character moments and get to everyone a little better. Plus: an episode about a positive female professional relationship between two women of color written by a woman of color! [EDIT]: We misidentify Andy Samberg's alma mater as the UCLA film school. His actual alma mater is the NYU film school. Our apologies!…
In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi talk at length about how awful Jimmy Brogan is, then share some of their own "worst hangover ever" stories, and then segue into Rosa's plotline. It's a short episode, but it's got some good meta and character notes, and Terry is the Team Dad as always.
The episode where we can't remember Kid Cudi's character's name, ruminate on New Jersey's peninsular island, and learn to stop worrying and love Charles Boyle a bit.
In today's episode, we talk about Halloween, why the Boyle/Santiago dynamic didn't really work, take strange meandering left turns, and over-use the phrase "bone person" and the Zelda treasure chest chime.
In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi talk about episode five, the squad getting drunk, an equal-opportunity sexual harasser, and times when each of them has been shipped. They also provide a number of important Public Service Announcements.
In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi talk about episode four, how Jake is The Worst, Amy's ability to deliver, and Terry gets a lot of character development!
