On the last episode before the AVR's winter break, I had the opportunity of speaking with The Talkies. Formed less than a year ago through spontaneous jamming and a literal proposal to the bassist, the group's unique style blends elements of indie, punk, and shoegaze to produce a sound that is as engaging as it is refreshing. We spoke a bit about the origins of the band, their DIY recording process, and the groups love of house shows. We try to talk as much about the history of my guests and their specific realm of creativity as much as possible, but occasionally we get side tracked and talk about whatever the hell we want!
