It’s the very first episode of The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr and our first guest is Phil Wang! And Phil’s subgenre is…This Place is Evil. We’re talking psychological torture, we’re talking gory death scenes, we’re talking Lorraine Kelly?! The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr is a brand new comedy podcast where each week a different celebrity guest pitches an idea for a film based on one of the SUPER niche sub-genres on Netflix. From ‘Steamy Crime Movies from the 1970s’ to ‘Australian Dysfunctional Family Comedies Starring A Strong Female Lead’, our celebrity guests will pitch their wacky plot, their dream cast, the marketing stunts, and everything in between. By the end of every episode, Jimmy Carr, Comedian by night / “Netflix Executive” by day, will decide whether the pitch is greenlit or condemned to development hell! Listen on all podcast platforms and watch on the Netflix Is A Joke YouTube Channel . The Big Pitch is a co-production by Netflix and BBC Studios Audio. "Intro to Fuckery" Discussion of the night: Parenting styles, toxic traits, & Discipline QOTD: What toxic trait will you discontinue with your kids? Proverb of the Day: Spare the Rod, Spoil the child : Meaning- if a parent refuses to discipline an unruly child, that child will grow accustomed to getting his own way. He will become, in the common vernacular, a spoiled brat. video 1- 3kids cursing video 2- mom & daughter bf mentality video 3- discipline Final Thoughts: Accept their feelings at face value rather than automatically assuming they're being a "typical teen." You might say, "You've seemed down in the dumps all weekend. At first I thought you were just being, you know, a 'typical teenager' but I don't want to miss what might really be going on for you." Kids appreciate having their feelings taken seriously, even if you're not sure what to do about them. If you're getting a lot of one and two word responses from your teens, consider how you start conversations with them. Questions, for instance, are boring, and make kids feel as if they're reporting in. Tell a story or share some news. I think teens would talk a whole lot more if the conversation itself was more inviting. If your teens do decide to open up about their personal lives, be respectful enough to listen closely and patiently. Resist the temptation to interrupt, offer solutions, or tell them how it was no different when you were a teen. What kids want most at those times are your presence and your undivided attention. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ashman-aikman-wiltshire/support…
