This week's debate began once again with soccer, as Lansing United gave us no choice but to keep discussing their success as they head to New Jersey to play the New York Red Bulls U-23 in the NPSL National Semifinals. With the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicking off in Brazil this past Thursday and with already a weekend of soccer behind us, The Pact held its first ever show devoted mainly to soccer. To begin the show, Fino and Faith welcomed Lansing United owner Jeremy Sampson as he watched the USA's first match of the World Cup live at a local pub. Jeremy shed light on the recent successes of the local amateur soccer team both in the standings and in the team finances and the community. United midfielder, Godwin Addai, then joined the panel a little farther into the game as USA led 1-0 at the beginning of the second half. Godwin grew up and played in Canada and Michigan, but his mother and father are from Ghana. As a fan of the Black Stars, Godwin gave a different perspective on the biggest game in USA soccer in the last four years. To round out the show, panelist Austin Goodman called in to begin a debate on the Spurs dominating 4-1 NBA Finals victory over LeBron and the Miami Heat.…
