Bakaki Umar is a visionary leader and changemaker from Uganda, whose life journey exemplifies resilience, creativity, and a profound commitment to community transformation. Growing up amidst hardship after losing his father at the age of nine, Bakaki witnessed the struggles of his mother, who worked tirelessly to support him and his siblings. Despite facing numerous obstacles, he persevered, completing his education and developing skills in farming and graphic design.When the pandemic disrupted his plans, Bakaki returned to his village and began using his skills and resources to address the challenges in his community. He co-founded an orphanage that now supports 50 children, providing them with care, education, and hope for a brighter future. Dr. Jacqueline Ancelin- Campbell, is the founder of the Julian Campbell Foundation (JCF) in memory of her brother, Julian, who tragically took his own life in 2007 due to mental health struggles.
