Greetings, and welcome to The End Last Week, This Week, and Next Week, the podcast companion to The End, the website and newsletter that shines a light back on audio fiction shows after they've reached the finale of a season or the conclusion of the series. I am your host and the curator of The End, Evo Terra.
Let’s get into it, shall we?
Last Week
The most recent issue of The End—the 60th—highlighted 8 shows in either the Complete Series or Season Finales section, and 2 of them wrapped in the last few days.
- 🗡️🩸👥 • Professionally Possessed, a dramatized horror anthology from Christine Mendiola & Goose Thunder Podcasting Network, posted the Season 1 finale on Oct 26th. There are 10 episodes in the first season. You’ll need about six hours to listen to this show, a show withAocus on female, trans, and non-binary characters.)
- 🦇🎃🎙️ • London After Midnight, a dramatized gothic horror crime thriller from Jack Bowman, AudioMarvels®; Lance Roger Axt, Pocket Universe Productions; Kenton Hall, Monkey Basket Entertainment & Fable & Folly, is complete as of Oct 25th. (1 season, 1 episode | 0h 56m)
- And be sure to listen to the end of the audio file to hear trailers or snippets for these shows.
This Week
With every issue, I make two recommendations for great audio fiction I personally love. As with all things in life, YMMV.
- 🏃♂️🚀👹 • My first recommendation is Deviser, a dramatized horror show from Harlan Guthrie. Yes, I’ve featured this show before, and am doing so again because this short, gripping story was one of the best I've heard all year. I'm a huge fan of being thrown into the story without any exposition, and this tale does that splendidly. Here’s the trailer: [trailer plays] Deviser is a complete story with a single season. And it will only take you about 2 and a half hours to listen to all 7 disturbing episodes.)
- 🔮 🀧 ♥️ • My next recommendation is IN THE CARDS, a dramatized existential romantic comedy from Kevin Henderson & Next Chapter Podcasts. It has stars from the hit podcast 'DEAD EYES', Guardians of the Galaxy 4, and 'The Walking Dead'. From my perspective; mystics and mediums make me sleepy, but this show was a blast. Great characters, and a fun storyline. And it sounds amazing! Heres the trailer: [trailer plays] In The Cards is a complete story with a single season. Settle in for a hilarious 4 hours as you listen to all 8 episodes.
Next Week
The latest issue of The End has 6 entries in the New Seasons Coming Soon section, and 4 of them start up again in the next few days.
- Season 2 of October's Children, a dramatized paranormal mystery/action horror series from Jacob Mandel & Derrick Valen, starts on Oct 30th. Catch up on the first season in about 4h hours. 🌹🦷🌷
- Season 2 of Hannahpocalypse, a dramatized horror comedy from Red Fathom Entertainment & Fable & Folly, starts on Oct 31st. Seriously. Start now on the nearly 7 hours you’ll need to get caught up before that.💛🧟♀️🖤
- Season 3 of Vampires of White Chapel, a dramatized supernatural horror from Transmissions From Atlantis Entertainment, also starts on Oct 31st. You’ll need about 8 hours to catch up on the first 2 seasons. 🧛♂️🎃👮♀️
- Season 2 of Insider Worldbuilding, a dramatized fantasy world-building and exploration from Fox Keyes starts on November 2nd. Season one can be enjoyed in less than 5 hours. 👻 🧙♂️🫠
Trailers or snippets for these shows and those I mentioned at the start of this episode are coming your way right after I say…
