Welcome, beautiful souls, to this exciting episode of the Happy Mama Movement Podcast. This week, we have the privilege of unraveling some of the incredible tapestry of a woman not fit for the norm.

Stephanie Trethewey is a woman of many talents, a pioneer in rural motherhood, and a driving force in sustainable agriculture.

Stephanie's journey began in the fast-paced world of TV journalism, where she spent over seven years crafting stories for some of the nation's most prominent news programs, including the Today Show and A Current Affair. But life took a profound turn when Stephanie, armed with courage and a baby in tow, made the move to rural Tasmania in 2019.

The challenges of navigating motherhood on a farm, coupled with the stark reality of isolation, became Stephanie's catalyst for change. In response, she birthed Motherland—a sanctuary for rural women nationwide. Through its online community, podcast, and innovative Motherland Village program, Stephanie has woven a supportive network, creating bridges of connection among mothers facing the unique trials of rural life.

Yet, Stephanie's impact transcends Motherland. As the co-founder and Director of Brand and Marketing for the Tasmanian Agricultural Company (Tas Ag Co), she stands at the forefront of a movement toward regenerative agriculture. Alongside her husband Sam, Stephanie is on a mission to produce climate-positive food, championing practices that rebuild soil health, reintroduce biodiversity, and restore natural ecosystems.

Stephanie's dedication to agriculture extends to her role on the Australian Advisory Council of Thankful4Farmers. In 2022, her outstanding contributions were recognized as she earned the title of AgriFutures Tasmanian Rural Woman of the Year.

Join us in this captivating conversation as we explore Stephanie's dynamic journey—from the buzzing newsrooms to the tranquil landscapes of rural Tasmania. It's a tale of resilience, innovation, and the remarkable impact one woman can have on the world.
