On the night of April 4, 1991, Angela Hammond, a 20-year-old from Clinton, Missouri, vanished while conversing with her boyfriend, Rob Shafer, on a pay phone. Recounting her encounter, she mentioned a suspicious man in a green pickup truck circling the block, who eventually stopped next to her, prompting her to scream and drop the phone. Shafer rushed to the scene, but his attempt to chase the pickup resulted in damaging his car’s transmission. Initially suspected by the police, Shafer was later exonerated when witnesses corroborated his account and provided details about the truck’s sightings.
