They also commented on the overcorrection in the US political system, with Jay comparing it to playing checkers instead of chess, and the dangers of this approach. They highlighted the hypocrisies and flaws in the US political system, and predicted that the pendulum would swing back in future. They also mentioned the impact of social media and the importance of individual expression. Criticism of NYU's Punishment and Protests We criticized the punishment imposed on New York University students who protested against the Gaza genocide, including being required to complete a philosophically ambiguous course on integrity. Jay questioned the need for moral reasoning instruction for students who had already protested and expressed his disillusionment with the academic system. He also highlighted the university's failure to uphold its own policies and allow protests that disrupt its operations. Chris agreed with Jay's assessment and suggested that students passionate about causes such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should pursue careers in international relations or humanitarian aid instead of participating in disruptive protests.
