CD 1653 “Watch Your Watching”
Everybody has one or more types of vision. There is what you're “watching” in your soul realm, the mind. And if you're not impaired there is the physical vision. But If you are a Blood washed believer then you have access to 3 sources of vision with many subcategories. You have the ability of a spiritual vision, we could call it God’s creative vision! In this message let’s dive deeper to the extreme caution we need to apply to “what we are watching”!
To lay a foundation, let’s look at 2 extremes, open for our text in the great book of Genesis:
First the Lord God Almighty:
*Text Genesis 1:31 (KJV) And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Secondly to Eve & Adam:
*Text Genesis 3:6-7 (KJV) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Notice the contrast between “God’s vision” of creation as "very good" and “Eve's distorted vision” that led to the Fall is especially sorrowful. These verses really highlight the importance of being mindful of what we're "watching" with our spirit, soul and body! We must make sure that we're aligned with God's perspective rather than being deceived by our own desires or the lies of the enemy.
After Adam let the serpent in the Garden, he started changing Eve’s “vision - the woman saw” from what God saw: “”it was very good!
Say “Attitude” - my “Attitude” is critical to my “vision”! Our “attitude” plays a huge role in our ““vision”” and thus our satisfaction with life. When we cultivate an “attitude” of gratitude, it helps us focus on the positive aspects of our lives, rather than dwelling on the negative. This can protect us from becoming easily dissatisfied or discouraged.
But if we are not appreciative, we tend to take things for granted and focus on what we lack rather than what we have. This is what is happening in our world today causing a sense of entitlement and a never-ending pursuit of more! This lifestyle can leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled! Adam and Eve had everything at their disposal but the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” and yet it was NOT enough! The devil deceives us into thinking something “different” is just what we want, and must have now!
Notice what God’s Word to us instructs:
*Read 1 Thessalonians 5:18-19) (KJV) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit.
*Read Philippians 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
When we follow God’s Word and cultivate this kind of attitude we can experience true joy and satisfaction, regardless of our circumstances. Do you realize that God gave us Jesus and through Him we can receive freely all things:
*Read Romans 8:32 (KJV) He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also
