Summary: Cyber Threats and Solutions in the Supply ChainJoe Ohr and Joe Lynch discuss cyber threats and solutions in the supply chain. Joe Ohr is the Chief Operating Officer at The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA), a nonprofit membership organization that represents the interests of less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers. Joe and Joe discuss the critical role of cybersecurity in the supply chain, transportation, and logistics space. In our digital era, cyber threats like ransomware from organized, state-sponsored groups pose significant risks to global supply chains. With extensive connectivity across multi-tier supplier networks, stringent authentication, encryption, and zero-trust models are crucial for secure data sharing and mitigating vulnerabilities. The rise of cargo theft through cybersecurity loopholes demands robust countermeasures like two-factor authentication and restricted access controls. As cybersecurity becomes a necessity for critical industries, we explore strategies, predictions, API security, and securing legacy maintenance software. This information offers valuable insights for cybersecurity professionals. The NMFTA Cybersecurity Conference, happening October 27-29, 2024, is the premier event for trucking and supply chain cybersecurity professionals. Join industry leaders to discuss and learn about the latest threats, solutions, and best practices to protect North America's vital supply chain.
