Yandal Resources updates Oblique gold exploration target after diamond drilling

Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) managing director Chris Oorschot joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss its latest exploration update from the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) Gold Project including diamond drilling at the Oblique prospect and plans for the Caladan and Irulan targets. Results from five diamond drill holes at Oblique confirm the presence of broad, shallow low-grade mineralisation within fresh rock beneath supergene-enriched oxide and transition zones. Consequently, the exploration target for the prospect has been revised to focus on the oxide mineralisation potential, which is of particular interest due to the prospect's proximity to the 268,000-ounce Flushing Meadows resource 5 kilometres to the south. The diamond drilling provided insights into the structures controlling the mineralisation and the company plans to further test oxide and transitional mineralisation potential at this site within the next six to 12 months. Additionally, Yandal has received access approval for initial aircore drilling across the Caladan and Irulan targets, with drilling scheduled to begin in October 2024. The exploration team is also preparing for follow-up activities based on forthcoming results from the New England Granite diamond drilling and Quarter Moon drilling, expected in September.
