You have an inner need to work because you are made in the image of God; it's a good thing that you also have something the world needs through your work. The world needs you to provide your share of your household's needs, to the degree you are able in each season of your life. The world needs you to invest in others' work. Some ways include providing means, welcoming and encouraging, cooperating, appreciating others' work, protecting, partnering, and, of course, buying others' work. God is the source of your ability to give the world what it needs. Will Messenger preached this sermon on October 18, 2015, at Reservoir Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He referenced these scripture passages: John 5:17, 9:4; Genesis 2:4-5; 2 Thessalonians 3:10; Ruth 2:17-23; Mark 4:3-9, 20. https://www.theologyofwork.org/resources/you-have-something-the-world-needs

Theology of Work

“When we talk about contextualizing," says Dr. Clint Le Bruyns, "what we are doing theologically and in following Christ in and through the world of work, it’s really about being more inclusive . . . being able to open ourselves up to the fullness of the Body of Christ so that we hear a little bit more clearly what God might be saying through the worldwide Church of God.” In this interview with the Theology of Work Project, Dr. Le Bruyns provides some directives for the faith and work movement as it seeks to contextualize the gospel for different workplace contexts. Dr. Le Bruyns is Senior Lecturer in Theology and Development in the School of Religion and Theology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. www.theologyofwork.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheoWorkProject Dr. Clint Le Bruyns Twitter: https://twitter.com/ClintLeBruyns…

"Our family experience is the most important experience of our lives," says Dr. Armand Nicholi, Jr., "and on the negative side, the breakdown of the family contributes significantly to the major problems confronting society today." Eschewing the family as a political talking point, Dr. Nicholi discusses his research on the effects of inaccessible or absent parents on children at a Marketplace Forum Network event in Boston. In the talk, he also provides practical guidelines for developing a stable and secure family environment. Dr. Nicholi is well known for his book, The Question of God: C.S.
