Capitalism, through academics and the press, has often used various techniques to legitimize itself. Framing is such a technique, that diverts a conversation by using hidden assumptions. In this talk Alexander Altanis explore how capitalism has used framing to present itself as a positive force for poor people in developing countries. Specifically, Alexander will talk about two (true) myths: that capitalism has lifted billions our of poverty and that sweatshops pay better wages than the minimum.
