A chat with Hino GM of Brand and Franchise Development, Bill Gillespie. There’s a lot going on at Hino Australia in 2018 and we thought it would be a great time to take a closer look at the big-selling brand. The Japanese brand has enjoyed a hefty 20.3% lift in sales across the first eight months of the year and consistently takes the silver medal position in the monthly sales race. In recent times we’ve seen new offerings like the Poncho Bus come to market, the 300 Series 4x4 and the new-generation 500 Series Wide Cab. On the horizon for Hino is the new 500 Series Standard Cab and a few possible new additions to the range, including a return to the brand’s Aussie roots with a larger focus on Hino Buses and even, potentially, a bonneted Hino truck.
