The Justice Hema Committee report, which had been with the Kerala state government for the last four-and-a-half years, was released last week after several rounds of legal battles in court. The report highlights the challenges faced by women in the film industry, including sexual harassment, inadequate facilities such as women’s toilets, gender bias and discrimination, pay disparity, and the absence of a legally established authority to address these issues.
