- 20th Century Spanish poet, Miguel Hernandez (Spain)
- The rebellious and resistant Mirabal Sisters (Dominican Republic)
- Baseball icon, and humanitarian, Roberto Clemente (Puerto Rico)
- Oscar winning filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro (Mexico)
