Sheila Wijayasinghe, MD, CCFP, joins us to discuss her journey to becoming a family doctor, how personal experiences as a patient have changed the way she practices medicine, the unscientific advice that she shares with her trainees to follow your heart, and so much more!

Dr. Sheila Wijayasinghe is a family doctor in Toronto with a special interest in women's and sexual health. She studied medicine at the University of Alberta and completed her Family Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Low Risk Obstetrics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Wijayasinghe is the Medical Director of Primary Care Outreach at Women's College Hospital and the Medical Director at the Immigrant Womens’ Health Center (IWHC) in Toronto. She has a family practice at St. Michael's Hospital and works as a staff physician at Hassle Free Sexual Health Clinic. Dr. Wijayasinghe is a Lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. Additionally, she has written for the Globe and Mail and is one of the Health Experts on CTV’s The Social.
