As founder of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, Davis, along with her team, have worked tirelessly gathering scientifically backed data about how girls and women, as well as people with disabilities, varied body types and the LGBTQ+ community are portrayed in media and on screen. Her research has had an enormous impact on Hollywood creators, and has helped to move the ball forward in the development and distribution of more accurate and more inclusive on screen portrayals.
