Welcome to the Altbays Table Talk (Feat. Maddie Johnson and Leo Magri)
One of Aotearoa’s most controversial artists, Hori, is an artist, fashion designer and comedian currently touring The Māori Elite show; a political satire piece that tries to answer all the questions around Māori elitism and the so-called “treatyists”. Not inspired by this year’s anti co-governance tour, Hori has decided to do his own Māori Elite Tour, a chat that follows on from the kōrero of his M9 Speech earlier this year.
The Hori label was created in 2012 and since then, has been the center of much artistic and social debate it was developed in order to draw attention to significant māori issues in aotearoa that as an artist he feels close to and believe need to be addressed.
The goal is to create awareness and to open up conversations about difficult and often taboo subjects like our nation’s haka hori looks to challenge people's view even when it may not seem politically correct to do so.
