Kamel is ranked in the top 100 most influential black, Asian and minority ethnic leaders in the UK by the FT and others and in 2017 was awarded an OBE for services to promoting diversity in banking. After 38 years in Banking she now sits on several boards as an Advisor / Trustee including the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust working across 53 countries on social change, Ambassador for Alzheimer's Soc, On the Cultural board for Lloyds of London and NED on TLC Lions advising over 230 FTSE companies across the globe on their Wellbeing, Inclusion & Cultural leadership behaviours reaching over 1 million over 3 years and brings these clients together by chairing the TLC Lions Client club at Westminster Palace alongside UN Chair for Women to debate key issues faced by all.
Her passion and purpose to create a level playing field for all resulted in forming one of the first BAME and Women’s network. This intrapreneur drive pushed her on to develop the Asian Strategy, cultural training initiatives, new communication campaigns and products for Lloyds Banking Group. As well as chairing a Government Task force to improve their supplier diversity ahead of the Olympic Games bid. She went on to lead the bank’s award winning 250th anniversary campaign, developed a game changing blue print for charity partnerships & various CSR programmes raising a record breaking £20m over 6 years. Her determination to change the shape of corporate values and interaction between colleagues and communities resulted in the development of a new skills volunteering strategy attracting a collaboration of universities and the Cabinet Office.
