In this podcast I'm speaking with poppy Banerjee. Poppy Banerjee has been practicing as a counsellor/psychotherapist since 1994 and has been trained in person-centred/existential therapies and has substantial experience of working with Asian women and girls. In 1995 Poppy initiated and developed a Pan-London forum for Asian counsellors and professionals working in the mental health field called the Asian Mental Health Forum. Poppy has been involved as a consultant with various voluntary and statutory organisations developing services that are focusing on domestic violence, forced marriage, self harm and any other social issues affecting the community. Poppy is also an associate member of BAATN (Black and Asian Therapist Network) and currently facilitating students support groups focusing on race and culture.
