“perplexed” – to be entirely at a loss
“very frightened but also filled with great joy” Matthew 28:8

“she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she didn’t recognize Him.” John 20:14
“Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” John 20:15

Love Won over discouragement and despair

“We had hoped He was the Messiah who had come” Luke 24:21

Love Won over disappointment and disillusionment

“That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders.” John 20:19
“Jesus Himself was suddenly standing there among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you’” Luke 24:36

“Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?” Luke 24:38

“troubled” – to cause inward commotion, to take away one’s calmness of mind, to render anxious
“doubts” – to question what is true, it is to argue inwardly
