As 2024 winds down, we'll discuss some of the biggest economic headlines for China and the world.

This year, China introduced a series of economic stimulus policies targeting the housing market, local government debt, and consumer spending. At the annual Central Economic Work Conference, Chinese leaders charted economic plans for 2025. China will pursue a more proactive fiscal policy with a higher deficit-to-GDP ratio and a moderately loose monetary policy.

In December, the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by a quarter point in the United States and announced it expects two rate cuts in 2025. In Europe, the European Central Bank cut interest rates four times this year. The eurozone's economy grew by 0.4% in the third quarter.
