Today on Break the Silence with Kath, we have the incredible Laura Padgett. Laura is a multi-published, award-winning author, dancer, and storyteller, who has spent over seven decades finding her place and purpose in the world.
As an adult child of alcoholics, Laura's early years were marked by challenges in understanding relationships and discovering self-worth.
Yet, through years of faith, resilience, and personal work, she has transformed from victim to victor and moved from tears to triumph.
Laura’s journey is not only inspiring but also deeply rooted in her faith. By God’s grace, she’s come to see her story through the lens of love, healing, and hope in Christ, and she passionately shares these insights through her books, blog, and podcast.
Her works, including Dolores, Like the River and Jesus in Shorts: Twenty-five Short Stories of Life-Changing Jesus Moments, have resonated with readers across the world.
Her writing often appears in Chicken Soup for the Soul and various Christian publications, where she encourages others to find purpose at every stage of life.
In 2020, on her 70th birthday, Laura launched her podcast, Livin’ What You’re Given, an extension of her popular blog.
Through her platform, Laura connects with audiences using humour and authenticity, always emphasizing that we each have value and purpose, no matter our age or background.
Laura holds an MA in storytelling through creative movement, and her love for dance and the arts has been a beautiful form of self-expression and healing.
Now living in Montrose, Colorado, with her husband Keith, Laura continues to inspire as a wife, mother, grandmother, and proud Colorado native.
