In this episode we’ll discuss how to inspire loyalty from employees during difficult times? To quote Simon Sinek, one of the most widely esteemed leadership experts, “the world is filled with danger, things that are trying to frustrate our lives or reduce our success or reduce our opportunities for success… It could be the stock market economy, the restraints that result from a pandemic or it could be a new technology that renders your business model obsolete overnight, or I could be your competition that’s trying to put you out of business or at the very minimum is working hard to frustrate your growth. We have no control over these forces. These are constant and they’re not going away”. One of the few areas we can control are the conditions inside the organization and that’s why leadership matters. In this segment I’ll Share specific details as to why Southwest airlines stands out as a top employer. With 4% voluntary turnover, 44 consecutive years of profitability, the lowest ranking for customer complaints in their industry, 85% of employees saying they’re proud to work for Southwest, It begs the question how did they do this? Especially how did they do this during a time when there were so many layoffs in their industry.
