As a musician in high school, Owen Husney formed a band and by the following summer had a top 10 charted record in 19 US cities. As adman, Husney wrote commercials for Randy Newman and Little Feat and traveled on the road with Richard Harris, Sonny and Cher, The Rolling Stones, and Alice Cooper. During his stint as concert producer/promoter he worked with every major rock act from The Who to Bonnie Raitt to the Rolling Stones. As artist manager Husney discovered and signed the artist Prince to Warner Bros Records. Husney guided Prince’s early career and handled all worldwide marketing for the artist’s launch. He eventually signed an additional ten artists to various major record labels earning him nine gold and platinum certified albums. Additionally, Husney ran several record labels in association with Capitol Records, A&M Records and Sony. He eventually became Senior Vice President of the Musicland/Sam Goody chain overseeing new artist promotions for the chain’s 1500 stores in the US and UK.

Both in 2022 & 2023 the Josie Music Awards nominated Tarquin for "Musician of the Year (Guitar)" and "Music Producer of the Year." In 2019 Tarquin received a Global Music Gold Award for his release Orlando In Heaven for “Best Album.” In 2023 the Hollywood Independent Music Awards nominated his company BHP Music-Guitar Trax Records for "Independent Record Label of the Year."
